Madison 18U defenseman Weis signs NAHL tender
December 9, 2016

The Madison Capitols, proud members of the NAPHL, are pleased to announce that defenseman Vincent Weis has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Minnesota Magicians. The Magicians compete in the NAHL’s Midwest Division.
Weis, 17, is in his first season playing in the NAPHL for the Capitols organization. The native of Madison, Wisconsin, has appeared in 16 regular season games to date and recorded nine points.
His best event of the season came at the most recent one in Blaine when he recorded four points in four games. Weis (5’8/150) was also selected to and played in the 2016 NAPHL 18U All-Star Game for Team Dixon, where he had an assist in a 4-3 overtime loss.
Prior to playing in the NAPHL for Madison this season, Weis played last year for the Team Wisconsin 16U team, as well as, the Madison Edgewood Prep high school team.
He is the second player from the Madison 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held in June of 2017.
