March 23, 2020

The Northstar Christian Academy of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) is pleased to announce that 18U forward Brody Lucas has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Janesville Jets of the NAHL’s Midwest Division.
Lucas, 17, just completed his second season playing in the NAPHL and first with Northstar. The 5’11/161 lbs. native of Mankato, Minnesota, played more than 70 games with the Northstar Christian Academy Knights during the 2019-20 season, 16 of which were in the NAPHL 18U program.
In those contests, he scored four goals and added nine assists for 13 points. Lucas was also a top scorer in the midget season, lighting the lamp 15 times and picking up 32 assists.
Lucas played with the Madison Capitols 16U team in the NAPHL during the 2018-19 season. He has appeared in 26 career NAPHL games in two years.
“I’m excited to tender with such a great organization,” Lucas said.
“Brody is a talented forward that will bring speed and skill to the Jets’ lineup next year. He had a tremendous NAPHL season this year and we’re excited to see him in a Jets uniform next year,” said Jets head coach Corey Leivermann.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 2, 2020.
