Day Two Delivers at the T1ER Central NAHL Experience Weekend

Action continued to ramp up on day two of the T1ER Central NAHL Experience Weekend at the Rochester Ice Center. With teams settling in and the competition tightening up, Saturday featured more hard-fought battles and standout performances from both the 16U and 18U levels. 18U:

The Lincoln Stars made an impressive comeback on day two, from falling to the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers 5-2 in game one to defeating the South Hills Panthers 6-2.

Game one against the Jr. Flyers proved to be a high-energy match from start to finish as both clubs earned the same number of shots on net. Despite this, the Stars were only successful in scoring twice. Max Duric opened up the scoring in the middle frame as Lincoln looked to erase a four-goal lead from Philadelphia. Both teams earned another goal in the final period, and Lincoln headed into game two ready to amp up the energy.

Game two against the South Hills Panthers was exactly what Lincoln needed to end the night on a high note as they earned a decisive 6-2 victory. The Stars wasted no time finding the back of the net, and they scored the first four goals of the contest. The Panthers responded with two goals in the third period, but Lincoln tallied on two more to secure the win. Jack Jerstad had an exceptional night in net for the Stars, making 34 saves between the pipes to help bring Lincoln to victory.

16U:

The Lincoln Stars, who are searching for any type of momentum, win in a grueling match up against Valley Forge Minutemen. This defensive affair went the entirety of regulation with 0 goals leading to a 0-0 overtime. In overtime the Lincoln Stars would finally win the game with a goal from Grimes Bear, Currie Klyde picking up the game winning assist. In the net for the Stars, goalkeeper Canas Elijah, had a perfect slate saving every shot that was taken towards him. The Lincoln Stars pick up a much needed win in a defensive matchup over Valley Forge 1-0.

Indiana Elite took a tough loss against the Long Island Arrows. The game went to a shoot out after Regulation ended with both teams knotted at 2 apiece, and overtime not being able to decide a winner. Despite the loss, Indiana gave a fight scoring their first goal while being down a player Esai Rasando scoring the unassisted, short handed goal. In the final period, down 1-2, Emon Cross found the game tying goal to force overtime, Braden Rubin picking up the assist. In the net for Indiana, Emerson Rossman was able to hold on for a while putting up a valiant performance in the narrow loss.
