Janesville Jets Experience Day 4: Overtime Thrillers Wrap Up the Event!

Madison Capitols 5 @ HB Detroit 4 (OT) - In a game that saw the two goalies shine at times, HB Detroit and the Madison Capitols needed OT to settle things. A scoreless first 13 minutes of the game was ended when Madison’s Michael Schaner and Matthew Winter scored within seconds of each other to give the Capitols an early 2-0 advantage.  However, Owen Will responded on HB’s behalf before the end of the first period, making the score 2-1 at the intermission. After the two goalies combined for another 15 minute shutout to open the second frame, HB scored twice to end the period, with the goals coming from Kyle Hoertch and Carter Brown, giving Honeybaked a 3-2 lead during the second intermission. HB struck again to grow their lead, with Jakeob Martinez scoring to extend the lead to 4-2. Madison wasn’t done, however, as they added goals from Ethan Fenster and Easten Brown, knotting the score at 4-4 and sending the game to overtime. Which is where the two netminders kept the score, until, with under a minute left, Madison’s Alex Spence scored the winner to give the Capitols an overtime victory.
